Bastrikin took control of the pollution of the Mostovitsa River in Kirov.
An appeal regarding violations of environmental legislation in Kirov has been received by the Information Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The applicants reported that untreated wastewater has been discharged into the Mostovitsa River for a long time, causing water pollution. Additionally, in September of last year, numerous traces of oil products were found on the surface of the water body.
The situation has been highlighted on the internet. Earlier, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, had already put it under control. A criminal case has been initiated in the regional investigative department.
Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region, Sultan Orazayev, to report on the preliminary and final results of the investigation, as well as on the work to restore the rights of residents to a favorable environment. The execution of the instruction has been put under control at the central office of the agency.
Back in July 2025, residents of the Chistye Prudy microdistrict reported that untreated wastewater with oily streaks has been flowing into the river from two abandoned pipes for several months, and water samples confirmed contamination with oil products.
At that time, public activists sent appeals to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Prosecutor's Office to compel the city administration to take the pipes into account.
