The relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker have been brought to the Holy Assumption Church of the East.

      On April 30, at 5:00 PM, the Holy Assumption Church in the village of Vostochny, with the blessing of His Grace Vsevolod, Bishop of Urzhum and Omutninsk, will receive the great relic of the Christian world — the relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, reports the local public page "About Everything Vostochny."

      Worshippers will be able to venerate the holy, incorrupt remains of one of the most revered saints daily until May 11 inclusive. Services will be held before the relics at 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Everyone is invited to touch the relic, seek help in life’s needs, troubles, and illnesses.

      The Holy Assumption Church, which has become the place for such a significant relic, has long felt the active support of the city-forming enterprise — the "Vostok" plant and personally its general director Dmitry Panteleev. One of the most vivid examples of such cooperation is the church acquiring its own voice. On May 1, 2022, Bishop John of Urzhum and Omutninsk consecrated seven new bells, cast and delivered entirely at the expense of the benefactor. The largest of them, the chime bell, weighs 140 kilograms. The initiative and funding for this project have become part of a systematic program to support the parish, which Dmitry Panteleev continues.

      The benefactor himself speaks about the current event and his participation in the life of the church:

      "The enterprise cannot exist apart from people, from their faith and traditions. That is why we once invested efforts to give the church its own voice — its bells. I remember how exactly four years ago, here, by these walls, we consecrated them. And today, Vostochny receives the relics of one of the most beloved saints among the people. Isn't that a miracle? For us, it is both a great honor and confirmation that we are on the right path in supporting the parish. I hope that every resident finds time to come here and pray for the most cherished."

      The bringing of the relics of Saint Nicholas to Vostochny is yet another important event in the life of the village, uniting believers and reminding of the long-standing tradition of church patronage. During the stay of the relic, the church will be open to all who wish to venerate the relics and participate in the services.
