According to the regional investigative committee, the young man acted as a courier in a criminal scheme. According to the investigation, in August and November 2025, he participated in deceiving five elderly residents of Kirov, as well as those from Slobodsky and Kirovo-Chepetsky districts.
The fraud occurred according to one scheme: unknown individuals called the pensioners and convinced them of the necessity to "declare" their savings. After that, the accused would arrive at the victims' homes, take the cash, and transfer it to accounts specified by his accomplices.
In total, more than 2.9 million rubles were stolen in this manner.
The young man fully admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and partially compensated for the damage caused. At the request of the investigation, a lien has been placed on his property.
A criminal case has been initiated under parts 2, 3, and 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of individuals by prior agreement on a large and especially large scale). Now the defendant will have to answer in court.
