Today, April 18, in Kirov, a clean-up event took place at the site of the future memorial "Alley of Glory" near the Regional House of Folk Art (ODNT). The initiative for the event was taken by the Kirov Regional Public Organization "Union of Paratroopers of Russia" with the support of the regional Ministry of Internal Policy.
Despite the bad weather, veterans of combat operations, employees of state and non-profit institutions, representatives of the Committee of Families of Warriors of the Fatherland in the Kirov region, as well as concerned citizens gathered at the cornerstone. Together, they cleaned the area of the square from garbage, which was subsequently taken to a specialized site.
The chairman of the regional branch of the "Union of Paratroopers," Vyacheslav Boyarintsev, thanked everyone who came: "I thank everyone who, despite the bad weather, came to clean up the territory of the future memorial site for our soldiers, heroes, and defenders. The 'Alley of Glory' will become a truly significant memorial for all residents of the Kirov region."
The organizers emphasized that today's clean-up event was the first practical step in improving the area before the main work begins. As reported by the press service of the Kirov regional government, Governor Alexander Sokolov has set the task of creating memorials in memory of the participants of the Special Military Operation in all cities and districts of the region by the fall of 2027. The "Alley of Glory" in the regional center will become a key object of this program.
