The culprit of the fire in Omutninsk was a 9-year-old boy.

      This morning, the regional emergency management agency reported on yesterday's fire. On April 14, a private residential house caught fire on Engels Street in Omutninsk, covering an area of 54 square meters. One person was injured.

      Later, the agency added that the homeowner had left for errands, her older adult son was sleeping in the room, and her younger 9-year-old son was playing in the outbuildings. He was entertaining himself by lighting and extinguishing splinters. At some point, the boy was unable to put out the fire, which ignited a stack of firewood. The flames then spread to the outbuildings and the house.

      The older son woke up from the smell of smoke and the crackling of the burning roof, began to extinguish the fire, and suffered minor burns. A neighbor who noticed the fire called the firefighters.

      Four fire crews were dispatched to the scene. By the time they arrived, the house and outbuildings were on fire. As for the cause of the fire, he was not injured.
