El Niño significantly raises the global average temperature, so 2026 or 2027 could become the warmest years. However, for the European part of Russia and the Urals, including the Kirov region, the positive phase of El Niño reduces the likelihood of blocking anticyclones in July-August. This means that strong and prolonged summer heat is unlikely. On the contrary, warm ocean water increases the likelihood of a cold summer over the Volga region and the Urals.
