Housing construction in the Kirov region has fallen by almost 50%, while real incomes have increased by 3%.

      Recently, the Bank of Russia's website published an April report on the situation in the country and individual regions. The Kirov region is mentioned there a total of five times.

      The first time is when discussing inflation. Let us remind you that in February it was 7.1% in our region. The report states that in March the region entered the group of regions where inflation fluctuates between 6% and 8%. This is quite a lot; however, there is a group where inflation is even higher—above 8%. Notably, some of our neighbors, such as Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Nizhny Novgorod region, etc., are included in this group.

      The Kirov region was also mentioned in the study of labor market trends. Experts noted that one of our woodworking enterprises was able, by installing automated lines, not only to reduce the need for new specialists but also to free up some personnel for work in other areas of production. Which specific area is not specified.

      In addition, the Kirov region ranked 9th from the bottom in terms of growth in real monetary incomes. Over the year, it amounted to only 3% for us. Let us remind you that real monetary incomes are the volume of income that remains after a person pays all mandatory payments.

      The situation with housing construction looks quite poor. Over the year (comparing March 2026 with March 2025), the indicator fell by 49.3%. In this regard, the Kirov region is in 14th place from the bottom. A year earlier, the situation was significantly better.

      At the same time, our region ranked 5th in terms of price expectations of enterprises. The indicator reached 33 points.
