The fire of bus route 116 in Kirov has attracted the attention of the prosecutor's office.
The incident involving the passenger bus on route 116 occurred on the morning of Sunday, April 13, 2026. The vehicle was traveling from the bus station towards the Pobedilovo airport when a fire broke out near the Lyangasovo microdistrict.
The bus crew acted promptly: the driver and conductor immediately began evacuating people. Thanks to their coordinated actions, they were able to completely avoid injuries or fatalities among the passengers — adverse consequences were prevented.
This incident did not go unnoticed by the supervisory authority. The Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region initiated a large-scale inspection of compliance with traffic safety legislation. Special attention will be paid to how the transport company dispatched the bus to the route and provided services to the public. The situation has been taken under the personal control of the regional prosecutor, Yuri Ryvaev. Following the supervisory activities, an assessment will be made of the carrier's actions and compliance with requirements aimed at ensuring passenger transport safety.
