The Kirov administration will be sued for failing to provide housing for a disabled person.
At the end of 2023, the prosecutor's office in Kirov filed a lawsuit demanding that the administration provide suitable housing for a local resident with a disability who is forced to move in a wheelchair. The court granted the claim. However, even after two and a half years, the resident has not been provided with housing. In this regard, he has again turned to the prosecutor's office for assistance in suing the administration for compensation for moral damages caused by the prolonged non-fulfillment of the court's decision. As soon as the prosecutor's office gathers the necessary materials, the claim will be submitted.
It is worth noting that in mid-2025, the authorities promised the Kirov resident that his problem would be resolved in 2026. They decided to build a three-story apartment building on Korolenko Street, the first floor of which will be adapted for people with limited health capabilities.
In March 2026, they began searching for a contractor. Due to a lack of applicants, the deadline for submitting applications was extended to April 13. Later, it turned out that only one application was submitted for the competition, and it was deemed non-compliant with the requirements.
In the near future, the authorities will have to launch a new competition. However, given the conditions—a relatively small amount (73.4 million rubles for a building with 15 apartments) and tight deadlines (by December 2026)—it can be assumed that there may be problems with the number of participants again.
