In Kirov, a 17-year-old teenager nearly carried out a terrorist attack on an energy facility.
In Kirov, a crime at an energy facility has been prevented. The subject of the criminal case is a 17-year-old teenager who attempted to set fire to the equipment of a transformer substation using industrial flammable liquid. According to the investigation, the young man was carrying out a task from an unidentified person via the Telegram messenger. In return, he was promised a monetary reward. However, he was unable to carry out his plan — the illegal activities of the subject were thwarted by the employees of the regional FSB of Russia. The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov region have charged the minor with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted terrorist act). The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention. Similar cases were recorded in January and February in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Krasnoyarsk Krai. There, minors, following the instructions of internet recruiters, committed arson of railway equipment and prepared diversions on transformers. The Investigative Committee of Russia urges parents to pay more attention to their children's interests, to inquire about their social circle, and to explain the legal consequences of criminal behavior. Any illegal proposals on the internet should be reported immediately to law enforcement agencies.
