Kirov judokas brought home the "gold" and tickets to the Russian national team.
From April 7 to 11, the Russian Championship and the Russian Youth Championship in judo for athletes under 18 years old (LIN sport) took place in Suzdal. The competition featured 186 judokas from 8 federal districts, with representatives from Sovetsk, Vyatskiye Polyany, and Kotel'nich defending the honor of the Kirov region.
Our compatriots showed impressive results, winning two gold, four silver, and three bronze medals in the Championship, as well as one gold in the Russian Championship.
Winners and prizewinners of the Russian Youth Championship (under 18 years old):
– 1st place – Trukhachyova Sofia (up to 40 kg, Honored Coach of the Russian Federation Glubokovsky I.Yu.) and Vishnyakov Danil (up to 90 kg, coach Panagushin Yu.A.)
– 2nd place – Lyapustina Ksenia (up to 44 kg), Kalmykov Alexander (up to 55 kg), Odnodvorets Nikita (up to 81 kg), Vedernikov Kirill (over 90 kg) – all students of coach Glubokovsky I.Yu.
– 3rd place – Rogozhnikova Snezana (up to 40 kg, coach Glubokovsky I.Yu.), Soboleva Sofia (up to 48 kg, coach Ivanov R.A.), Gorinov Pavel (up to 81 kg, coach Glubokovsky I.Yu.)
In the Russian Championship among adult athletes, 1st place was won by Zhukov Abram (up to 90 kg, coach Panagushin Yu.A.)
And the main news for Kirov fans: as a result of the competitions, four of our athletes have been included in the Russian national team for 2027. They are Zhukov Abram, Vedernikov Kirill, Odnodvorets Nikita, and Vishnyakov Danil.
In addition, Zhukov Abram received a ticket to international competitions: he will compete at the VIRTUS World Games in Egypt and the World Championship in Abu Dhabi (UAE), which will also take place in 2027.
