The passenger traffic on the "Lastochka" trains between Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov has increased by almost 2%.

      From January to March 2026, 38.2 thousand passengers used the high-speed electric trains "Lastochka" on the route Nizhny Novgorod – Kirov. This is an increase of 1.9% compared to the same period in 2025.

      For reference: on the Nizhny Novgorod – Ivanovo route, "Lastochka" transported 22.8 thousand people with a growth of 17.1%. On the main route of the railway Nizhny Novgorod – Moscow, the passenger flow amounted to 912 thousand people (+13%), of which 589 thousand were on "Lastochka" and 322.5 thousand on the double-decker "Burevestnik".

      In total, over three months, high-speed trains on the Gorky Railway transported almost 1 million passengers — 13% more than in the first quarter of 2025.

      Currently, "Lastochka" trains operate in five- and ten-car configurations, while "Burevestnik" consists of 10 cars. RZD monitors demand and increases the number of train cars as necessary.

      For the May holidays, "Lastochka" No. 723 Nizhny Novgorod – Moscow will be expanded to 10 cars. Departure from Moscow is on April 30 at 21:15, arrival in Nizhny Novgorod is at 01:13. The return train will depart on May 4 at 04:51 and arrive in Moscow at 09:09. Passengers on this train will be able to test the biometric identity verification service.
