The Kirov region will spend 4.8 million on VPN.
According to "Gazeta.ru," the administrations of regions and cities in Russia have announced tenders for the procurement of VPN services for the operation of government institutions and public alert systems. One of the key requirements for such services is a high bandwidth of at least 100 Mbps.
The largest expenses have been recorded in the Tyumen region — nearly 198 million rubles. Significant amounts have also been allocated by the Murmansk region (19.5 million rubles), Saratov region (13.9 million rubles), Sverdlovsk region (10.3 million rubles), and Pskov region (over 9 million rubles).
In the Kirov region, 4.8 million rubles are planned to be allocated for the procurement of VPN services in 2026. These funds are intended to ensure the secure and stable operation of the information systems of government authorities.
In several other regions, the amounts are significantly lower — ranging from several million to less than one million rubles. In total, it is estimated that around 300 million rubles may be spent on such procurements across the country.
