An organizing committee has been established in the Kirov region to prepare for the 81st anniversary of Victory.
The government of the Kirov region has launched preparations for the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The head of the region, Alexander Sokolov, ordered the creation of an organizational committee that will be responsible for conducting commemorative and ceremonial events in April – May 2026.
The governor himself became the chairman of the committee. The co-chairs are the chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Roman Beresnev, and the chief federal inspector for the Kirov region, Grigory Zhitenyev. The deputy chairman of the government, Svetlana Shumailova, will oversee the implementation of the order.
The committee includes heads of regional ministries — education, culture, health, sports, social development, and youth policy, as well as the head of the Kirov administration. Representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the military commissioner of the region have been invited to the working group.
A special place is reserved for public organizations: representatives of the "Immortal Regiment of Russia," "Yunarmiya," "Young Guard," veteran associations ("Combat Brotherhood," Union of Paratroopers), and the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund are included in the committee. Also included are the Vyatka Diocese, the Kirov Regional Local History Museum, and the Federation of Trade Unions.
The committee will need to ensure the implementation of the plan of events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory.
