A job fair was held at the Kirov IK-11: inmates were offered work until their release.
In the Kirov region, preparations continue for convicts to return to normal life. The next stage of the "Preparation for Release Courses" program took place at IK-11, where a meeting with employers was organized. The main goal set by the organizers was to help people who found themselves in prison not to get lost on the threshold of freedom and to immediately get a chance for legal earnings.
Representatives from two completely different sectors were invited to the job fair: a transport company (engaged in passenger transportation by bus) and a company working with solid municipal waste. Both organizations stated that they were ready to consider candidates with criminal records and provide them with full-fledged jobs with official social guarantees.
First, specialists from the employment service took the floor. Snezhana Pogudina and Yulia Luchinina explained in detail to the convicts how to register with the employment agency, what support measures unemployed individuals can receive, where to seek psychological help, and how to use the "Work in Russia" platform. After that, future employers joined the conversation — they described real job vacancies, working conditions, rest schedules, and salary levels.
But the most interesting part of the meeting was the live communication. The convicts could not only listen but also ask specific questions, as well as receive handouts and brochures with direct contacts of the companies. Some participants, according to unofficial information, have already identified whom to contact for employment immediately after their release.
The press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Kirov region emphasized that such job fairs have a dual effect: on one hand, people who have embarked on the path of correction receive a real plan for life, and on the other hand, the region saves on the social adaptation of former prisoners by helping them integrate through work. The next similar event is planned to be held with the participation of construction companies.
