The incident occurred on the evening of March 27 in the village of Pasegovo. A local resident contacted the police, reporting that unknown individuals pried open the metal door of his house and stole power tools worth about 87,000 rubles.
A forensic investigative team was dispatched to the scene. Among them was canine officer Alexey Grebyonkin with a service search dog named Falya. The animal picked up the scent and led the police officers to a private house approximately 300 meters away. There, they discovered the stolen property.
Soon, the operatives identified and detained the suspect — a local resident born in 1987, who had previously come to the attention of law enforcement.
For his professional actions and the resolution of the crime on the hot trail, police lieutenant Alexey Grebyonkin received a monetary reward. As noted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he has already deployed his service dog five times this year during outings — and each time with successful results.
