Kirov will get additional trains due to the airport closure.

      According to the Gor'kovskaya Railway, an additional train No. 251/252 has been scheduled for the Kirov — Moscow route from April to June 2026. It will operate on specific dates: at the end of April, throughout May (on odd or even days depending on the direction), and at the beginning of June.

      From Moscow, the train departs in the evening — at 21:25 — from Yaroslavsky Station and arrives in Kirov the next morning at 09:58. In the opposite direction, it departs from Kirov at 17:09, arriving in the capital the next morning. There will be stops along the way in Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, and Kovrov.

      Additionally, there will be an opportunity to reach St. Petersburg without transfers. For this, special cars Kirov — Petersburg will be included in the train from Chelyabinsk to St. Petersburg. They will depart from Kirov in mid-May and early June, arriving in the northern capital the next day.

      Return trips from St. Petersburg are also planned with similar frequency.

      We remind you that earlier, the railway workers had already strengthened the connection with the region: since the end of March, a second daily "Lastochka" has been operating between Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod.

      Previously, we reported that repairs to the runway at Kirov airport are scheduled. The work will take place from April 22 to June 7. More than 2 billion rubles from the federal budget have been allocated for these purposes. It is expected that after the repairs, flight safety will increase and new routes will appear.
