The industry of the Kirov region decreased by 2.4% in the results of the two months.
The main decline was in the extraction of mineral resources (down 11.8%) and manufacturing industries (down 4%). In the manufacturing sector, however, there was a mixed dynamic. Growth was recorded in the production of other non-metallic mineral products (+10.8%), finished metal products (+5.4%), chemical substances (+2.6%), food products (+0.3%), and some other industries. A decline occurred in the production of motor vehicles, metallurgy, electrical equipment, furniture, rubber and plastic products, beverages, and clothing. Positive dynamics were observed in the fields of energy and water supply: production in electricity, gas, and steam supply increased by 6.4%, and in water supply and waste disposal — by 4.9%. It should be noted that in January, the industry of the Kirov region showed a decline: the industrial production index was 93.4% compared to January 2025, and manufacturing industries fell to 90.5%. Thus, despite some improvement in February, the industrial sector remains in the negative over the two months as a whole.
