The house in the center of Kirov was extinguished for five hours.

The fire alarm was received at 3:13 AM. Thirty rescue service employees and eleven units of equipment were working at the scene. The open flames were extinguished by 5:00 AM, and the area of the fire was 300 square meters. There were no casualties.

According to a witness living in a house on the same street, the fire started around three o'clock in the morning. Residents of nearby houses moved their cars to save them from the fire. The man reported that sounds resembling small explosions could be heard from the building — apparently, something flammable was inside. Firefighters remained on site at least until eight in the morning, extinguishing the structure.

The burning house is located at 72A Nikitskaya Street (formerly Volodarsky). The two-story wooden building was scheduled to be demolished by December 30, 2024, but the demolition did not take place. The building was being vacated: out of 34 apartments, only three were freed, while the others were empty. The cadastral value of the land plot is 7.8 million rubles. In recent years, the building had not been in use and was accessible for entry. According to the witness, intentional arson is unlikely — most likely, teenagers or outsiders entered and brought something in that caused the fire: "The house was already being vacated and was set to be demolished, so it's unlikely this was done intentionally."

An investigator from the Ministry of Emergency Situations is working at the scene, and several versions are being considered, including an external source of ignition.
