Starting in April, Apple IDs will no longer be replenished via mobile.
According to "RBK," the operators of the "big four" received the corresponding instruction from the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation. The decision was discussed at a meeting with the head of the department, Maksut Shadaev.
One version suggests that the measure is related to an attempt to limit payments for VPN services. In recent years, users have bypassed restrictions through mobile accounts: after the departure of bank cards from the Apple ecosystem, this method became one of the most popular.
Currently, direct payment functionality is available with MTS and "Beeline," while other operators offer it through partners. However, starting in April, this channel will be closed.
At the same time, alternatives remain, but with nuances. For example, users can top up their Apple ID using gift codes sold through intermediaries—often with a commission of up to 20%.
