Shooting in "Neon": a Kirov resident who shot an opponent in the eye received three years in prison.
The October District Court of the regional center has concluded the criminal case of hooliganism involving the use of a weapon, which occurred at the end of September last year. The defendant is a 30-year-old resident of Kirov, whose quarrel with another visitor at an entertainment venue ended in serious injury.
As established during the court session, the incident took place on the morning of September 27, 2025. Two men had a disagreement at the entrance of the entertainment center "Neon," located on Lomonosov Street. At some point, the verbal altercation escalated into open aggression: the defendant pulled out a gas pistol of 4.5 mm caliber and fired a shot at his opponent's head.
The bullet struck the victim directly in the eye. The injury was classified by medical professionals as causing serious harm to health, as the trauma posed a direct threat to the man's life.
The prosecutor's office of the October District, which supported the prosecution, noted that the defendant fully admitted his guilt. The court took into account the position of the state prosecutor, as well as the nature and degree of public danger of the actions committed. The actions of the Kirov resident were requalified under paragraph "z" of part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of serious harm to health using an object used as a weapon).
As a result of the case review, the court sentenced the guilty party to 3 years of imprisonment. The man will serve his sentence in a general regime correctional colony. Until the sentence comes into legal force, the shooter will remain in custody.
It is noteworthy that the court's attention was drawn not only to the fate of the shooter but also to the operation of the entertainment venue itself. During the pronouncement of the verdict, the judge granted the prosecutor's request and issued a private ruling addressed to the management of "Neon." The document pointed out the insufficient measures taken to ensure the safety of guests during mass events.
As for the weapon used in the crime, the gas pistol was handed over to the regional department of the National Guard. They will decide the further fate of the weapon, which nearly cost a person their life.
