Petryakova and Pestrykova have been appointed to the positions of deputy heads of the government.
Today, at the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly, Prime Minister Mikhail Sandalov presented the candidacies of former Minister of Industry Denis Pestrikov and former Minister of Transport Alexei Petryakov for appointment as deputy chairmen. He briefly spoke about each of them.
When discussing Pestrikov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Roman Beresnev noted that the industry he will oversee is an extremely important sector and requires even more attention than before. Beresnev also urged him to listen to business. Deputy Albert Bikaluk suggested that Pestrikov reduce the staff of the Ministry of Economic Development, which he will also partially oversee, and redirect the freed-up funds to something more useful—such as feeding children and payments to labor veterans. Deputies Vyacheslav Tsaryuk and Pavel Dorofeev called Pestrikov a competent specialist and a great professional, always open to dialogue. Deputy Sergey Mamaev also supported him, noting that he is a responsive, attentive person who reacts correctly to criticism, hears all suggestions, and finds solutions to problems. During the voting, those present (39 people) unanimously supported the new deputy chairman.
Next, the discussion turned to Petryakov. Tsaryuk noted that he is a good specialist, understands roads, and knows how to attract federal funds; however, the situation with rural and intermunicipal roads is still poor. "I will support you, but you must not repeat the mistakes of your predecessors," he added. Dorofeev and Mamaev expressed the same opinion. Mamaev added that Petryakov should support the Prime Minister, execute the budget, comply with the law, and also be "more attentive and tougher." Meanwhile, Deputy Mikhail Kovyazin spoke against Petryakov, noting that he and the voters do not like the decisions regarding transport in Kirov—specifically, the reduction of routes from remote parts of the city. During the voting, 37 deputies voted in favor, two against, and there were no abstentions. Bikaluk on the quota for participants in the SVO: "I believe this is not for support, but for replenishing the budget." The region has introduced the title of "Honored Worker of Consumer Cooperation, Trade, and Public Catering." A law on benefits for the simplified tax system was adopted in the Kirov region.
