Prices are rising faster than the national average: inflation in the Kirov region remains higher.

      According to the Kirov branch of the Volga-Vyatka Bank of Russia, prices increased by 0.54% over the month, while the annual inflation rate was 7.06%. In comparison, the national average is lower at 5.91%.

      The main contribution to the price increase in February came from services, which rose the most. Food and non-food products also increased in price, but more moderately. At the same time, in annual terms, food and services became more expensive faster than the overall inflation, while non-food products increased significantly slower.

      Experts note that the pace of price growth has somewhat slowed compared to January. This is due to the diminishing impact of one-off factors such as the increase in VAT, excise taxes, and tariffs.

      Overall, inflation in Russia has also begun to decrease. In February, it was 5.91%. The Central Bank expects that by the end of 2026, inflation will drop to 4.5–5.5%, and will subsequently stabilize at around 4%.
