In the Kirov region, 17 counterfeit Russian banknotes were identified by the end of 2025. In comparison, there were 16 the previous year. This was reported by the press service of the Volga-Vyatka branch of the Bank of Russia.
As noted in the banking sector, the most commonly counterfeited banknotes were those with a denomination of 5,000 rubles — 10 such banknotes were discovered. Additionally, six counterfeit banknotes with a denomination of 1,000 rubles and one banknote of 200 rubles were removed from circulation.
Furthermore, a case involving foreign currency was recorded in the region — one counterfeit banknote with a denomination of 100 US dollars was identified.
