Almost 6 thousand families in the Kirov region receive child care benefits.
The recipients of the payment can be not only parents but also other relatives — grandmothers, grandfathers, or guardians, if they are the ones actually taking care of the child. The amount of the benefit is 40% of the average earnings for the two calendar years preceding the application for parental leave. At the same time, a minimum payment amount is established — in 2026, it is 10,669.64 rubles per month.
If a family is simultaneously taking care of two or more children under the age of one and a half years, the benefit is assigned for each child. There is also a mechanism for so-called "year substitution": if a parent was on maternity leave or leave to care for another child, they can substitute one or both calculation years for earlier ones to increase the benefit amount.
Another important guarantee is the possibility of returning to work early without losing the benefit. The payment is retained in full regardless of the employment format — whether it is full-time or part-time, remote work, home-based work, or employment with another employer.
To apply for the benefit, it is necessary to submit an application to the employer. After the information is transmitted to the fund, the first payment is made within 10 working days. Subsequently, the money is transferred monthly — on the 8th of the month for the previous month.
