57 pregnant students from the Kirov region received nearly 5 million rubles.

In the Kirov region, during this period, the Social Fund Department transferred maternity benefits to 57 female students and graduate students. The total amount of funds transferred exceeded 4.8 million rubles. Previously, the amount of the payment depended on the scholarship. Now it is tied to the regional minimum subsistence level for the working-age population — and it does not matter whether the girl receives a scholarship and what form (paid or budget) she studies in. In 2026, the minimum subsistence level in the Kirov region is 18,373 rubles. For the standard maternity leave (140 days), female students receive a one-time payment of 84,612.5 rubles. The benefit is available to full-time students of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, graduate students, as well as those studying in additional vocational education organizations. The payment is provided to Russian citizens and foreign citizens permanently residing in Russia, as well as stateless persons. Applications can be submitted within six months after the end of maternity leave — through the "Gosuslugi" portal, MFC, or client services of the Social Fund. To apply, a certificate from a medical institution about the period of incapacity for work and a document from the educational organization confirming the fact of full-time study and the dates of leave are required. The decision on the payment is made within ten working days, and the money is transferred within the next five working days.
