The average markup on the cheapest products in supermarkets was 3.1%.
Recently, the Federal Antimonopoly Service analyzed prices in major supermarkets such as "Pyaterochka," "Perekrestok," "Magnit," "Metro," "Globus," etc. Experts studied the markups on goods.
In particular, it was found that the average markup on "first price" goods is 3.1%. For comparison, in 2021 it was 22.2%. It is worth noting that "first price" goods are the cheapest products in their category. By the end of 2025, their share accounted for 29% of the total volume of socially significant goods.
In some cases, a negative markup was established on the aforementioned goods. This concerns carrots (-19.8%), cabbage (-10.3%), eggs (-6.9%), buckwheat (-4.2%), beets (-3.4%), and apples (-1.3%).
