A "dry" weekend with a 12-degree temperature drop is coming to Kirov.

      According to the forecast from the Kirov Hydrometeorological Center, the upcoming weekend, March 21 and 22, will bring comfortable spring weather during the day for the city's residents, but will maintain a "winter" mood during the dark hours. Specialists warn that the temperature difference between day and night will be significant — up to 12 degrees.

      If on Saturday the air in Kirov warms up to +8°C during the day, and on Sunday to +9°C, the nighttime temperatures will still be negative: thermometers will drop to -3…-4°C. Such fluctuations will lead to classic spring ice. As meteorologists clarify, during the night hours, ice formation is expected on the roads of the city and region, which will require special caution from drivers, especially in the morning hours.

      The wind will remain moderate over the three days (from Saturday to Monday), predominantly from the west and southwest. Its gusts on Sunday may reach 11 meters per second; however, this will not cause significant discomfort, as no precipitation is forecasted.

      Interestingly, the temperature background in the Kirov region will be even more varied. While in Kirov itself daytime temperatures are expected to be +6…+9°C, in the northern and eastern areas of the region, the air may warm up to +12°C. At the same time, nighttime temperatures in the region may drop to -6°C in some places.

      Meteorologists note that unlike the previous days, filled with snow and wet rain, the next 72 hours will pass under the banner of "variable cloudiness." On Monday, March 23, warmth will remain: daytime temperatures will reach up to +10°C, and the wind will weaken to 4–9 m/s, giving way to a calm spring atmosphere.

      The main advice from meteorologists for this weekend: enjoy the daytime sun, but don’t rush to put away your winter shoes on the top shelf — evening and morning walks may require the usual vigilance due to slippery road sections.
