Migrants were checked at the Kirov market.

Today, March 6, at the Oktyabrsky market in Kirov, employees of the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov garrison conducted a raid to ensure compliance with migration legislation.

According to the law, men of conscription age who have obtained Russian citizenship are required to register for military service. This must be done within two weeks after taking the oath and even before receiving a Russian passport. However, as practice shows, many new citizens do not fulfill this obligation in a timely manner.

Interdepartmental raids are conducted in markets, trading bases, construction sites, and other locations where former migrants who have obtained Russian citizenship work.

During the inspection at the central market in Kirov, it was established that previously identified violators of migration legislation are already registered for military service at the military enlistment offices of the city.

According to the agency, since the beginning of the year, dozens of citizens in the Kirov region have been identified who did not register for military service after receiving a Russian passport. As a result, the violators were registered and also held administratively accountable.
