An associate professor at Vyatka State University became the first certified guide-interpreter in Kirov Oblast.

The first certified guide-interpreter in the Kirov Region was Elena Mishutinskaya, an associate professor in the Department of Foreign Languages for Non-Language Majors at Vyatka State University.

Behind this achievement lies a dream that began in childhood, Elena Alekseyevna said: "When I was nine years old, I met a group of foreign tourists with a guide at the Hermitage. And then I thought that in the future I would like to do the same: lead guests through beautiful places and show them masterpieces.

"For three years now I have been working with students studying Tourism, and my childhood dream has turned into a goal. In June I took courses with the best guide of the Volga Federal District 2025, Candidate of Sciences, associate professor of the Department of Culturology, Sociology and Philosophy at Vyatka State University, Svetlana Dozhdevykh; in November last year I was certified as a tour guide, and in January 2026 I obtained the qualification of guide-interpreter."

The certification, aimed at raising industry standards within the national project "Tourism and Hospitality," took place in two stages: testing and the demonstration of a tour fragment. Elena Alekseyevna brilliantly passed all the tests, demonstrating her knowledge and skills in both Russian and English. As a reward she received an identification card and the right to work with tourist groups for five years.

"I thank all the members of the certification commission for their questions and valuable comments. This dual experience of taking the certification will help me make the tours of higher quality. I will definitely conduct tours for anyone interested," shared Elena Mishutinskaya.

We congratulate Elena Alekseyevna on this significant achievement! We wish her inexhaustible inspiration, exciting discoveries, and new successes for the benefit of tourism development in our region!
