According to current recommendations, for students in grades 1–4 a temperature of −25 °C or lower is grounds for not attending classes. Students in grades 5–9 may stay home at −30 °C or lower, and for senior students in grades 10–11 the threshold is −35 °C or lower, the Kirov administration reports.

At the same time, the decision on whether to attend school is made by parents, even if the air temperature meets the specified values. Educational institutions, as a rule, continue to operate as usual, and absences from classes on such days are considered excused.
