Hogweed and bushes have "eaten" dozens of hectares of land near Kirov.

In the Kirovo-Chepetsky District, Rosselkhoznadzor discovered an abandoned agricultural plot covering 39 hectares. The inspection took place on January 14, 2026, in the Burmakinskoye rural settlement, the agency reported.

It turned out that most of the land, 34 hectares, had become overgrown with weeds and woody and shrubby vegetation. Sosnowsky’s hogweed, which is considered a dangerous weed, was also found on the plot.

Experts note that this condition of the land violates the requirements of land legislation, since the plot must be used as intended.

On January 16, the landowner was issued a warning. He was asked to put the plot in order and return it to agricultural use.
