      According to the Kirov CGMS, cold and predominantly dry weather will persist in the region from January 22 to 24. In Kirov nighttime temperatures will drop to -25…-33°C, and across the oblast to -35°C.

      On Thursday, January 22, Kirov is expected to be cloudy with occasional clearings, with no significant precipitation. At night temperatures will be -25…-27°C, by day -22…-24°C. Hoarfrost is possible, and roads may be icy.

      On Friday, January 23, it will become even colder. According to forecasters, nighttime temperatures in the city will fall to -31…-33°C, daytime to -25…-27°C. Winds will be light and variable; no precipitation is expected.

      On Saturday, January 24, the frosts will begin to ease. At night temperatures in Kirov will be -28…-30°C, by day -18…-20°C. No significant precipitation is forecast, but icy roads remain possible.

      Across Kirov Oblast the temperature background will be even lower. On the night into Friday some places are expected to reach -35°C. At the same time the Telegram channel “Amateur Meteorology in Kirov”, citing the ECMWF model, reports a risk of temperatures dropping to -37°C in low-lying areas under favorable conditions for radiative cooling.
