Sokolov wants to send pigs from Kirov to Belarus.

      During the visit, representatives of the region toured the Grodno Meat Processing Plant — one of the largest meat-processing enterprises in Belarus. The plant, which has been operating for 114 years, produces sausages, semi-finished products, offal and edible fats, as well as specialized products, including dietary and gluten-free items. The enterprise is oriented not only to the domestic market but also to exports.

      As Alexander Sokolov noted, the Grodno Meat Processing Plant buys pork in Russia. According to him, large pork and poultry producers operate in the Kirov region, and the region intends to study the possibility of supplying raw materials to Belarusian enterprises. Specific volumes, timelines and terms of potential cooperation have not yet been announced.

      It is recalled that on the previous day, January 19, a meeting was reported between Alexander Sokolov and the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. The parties discussed a general expansion of economic cooperation, possible joint projects in industry and agriculture, and shipments of products from Kirov enterprises to Belarus.
