A sharp cold snap down to -33°C is expected in Kirov and the surrounding region.

      The Kirov Hydrometeorological Center published a weather forecast for the period from January 20 to 22. A gradual drop in air temperature is expected in Kirov and the Kirov region, along with icy conditions on the roads.

      On Tuesday, January 20, Kirov will be cloudy with some clear spells, with light snow. Nighttime temperatures will be -7 to -9 °C, daytime -6 to -8 °C. Wind northwest, then north, 3–9 m/s. Roads will remain icy.

      On Wednesday, January 21, the weather pattern will not change significantly, but it will become noticeably colder. At night temperatures will fall to -17 to -19 °C, daytime to -15 to -17 °C. Wind east and northeast, 5–11 m/s. Light snow and icy roads are expected.

      The coldest weather is forecast for Thursday, January 22. Kirov is expected to have variable cloudiness, with no significant precipitation expected. Nighttime temperatures will be -26 to -28 °C, daytime -22 to -24 °C. Wind east and northeast, 3–9 m/s. Roads will be icy.

      Frosts will be even more severe across the region. Overnight into January 22, temperatures in some areas may drop to -33 °C. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to be especially careful due to difficult road conditions.
