The frost may let up in the Kirov region.

A cautious hint of a change in the weather scenario has appeared in the Kirov region. This was reported by the authors of the Telegram channel "Amateur Meteorology in Kirov." According to them, weather models are detecting a signal for a return of warmth in early February or, at the very least, a transition from anomalous frosts to the climatological norm.

Amateur meteorologists emphasize that this is not yet a sharp warming: most likely the region is facing a gradual exit from the cold anomaly that has held the Kirov region for several weeks. Nevertheless, the mere appearance of such a signal is viewed as positive, since earlier the models were much more unequivocal in forecasting prolonged frosts.

Recall that earlier Newsler.ru wrote that northern air began to flow into the region in connection with the breakdown of the Siberian anticyclone. At that time forecasters warned of snowfalls and further cooling: from January 18 precipitation and temperatures of −9…−12 degrees were expected across the region, followed by a strengthening of the cold conditions.

It was also reported that weather models had "frozen" the Kirov region at least until the end of January. According to ECMWF ensemble calculations, the negative temperature anomaly was expected to persist into the first ten days of February, with deviations from the norm of 5–10 degrees. On some nights in the central and northern parts of the region temperatures could drop to −26…−28 degrees and below, and an ultra-polar intrusion scenario even allowed for 30-degree frosts.
