As reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kirov Region, an unknown man first called the woman and introduced himself as an employee of the electricity provider. He said that a crew had allegedly been sent to her home to replace the electricity meter and asked her to read out the code from an SMS message to confirm the request.

A few minutes later the victim received a call from a woman who identified herself as an investigator from the Investigative Committee. She said that scammers had gained access to the personal account of the Murashi resident on the Gosuslugi portal and were trying to transfer her money to "Ukrainian terrorists." To prevent the theft, the woman was asked to follow the instructions of an "FSB officer."

A man who introduced himself as an FSB officer convinced the pensioner to withdraw all her savings and transfer them to a so‑called "safe account." He also helped install apps on her phone for communication and transferring funds. As a result, the woman withdrew money from two banks and transferred 1,785,000 rubles to the accounts provided.

After the transfer, the fraudster demanded that she delete all installed apps and correspondence. The woman told her husband what had happened, and he explained to her that she had become a victim of fraudsters.

A criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway.

"Return to Silent Hill": a new film adaptation of the cult classic game A new film adaptation of the game about the "foggy town" is due to hit Russian cinemas at the end of January. It is based on the plot of Silent Hill 2 (18+) — the story of James Sunderland, who comes to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his wife Mary, who died several years earlier. Even at this stage you can breathe a sigh of relief: finally someone has decided to adapt not the "monsters and sirens," but the most painful and adult part of the franchise. One person was injured in a fire in Rudnichny. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported two fires yesterday. "Development" ahead of common sense When the word "development" is heard more often than concrete answers, common sense inevitably retreats. The story of "Social Architecture" — a 150‑million‑ruble project — has been discussed before, but it is still accompanied by vague wording and promises to explain everything later. Another attempt to sort it out took place at a government press conference. He suffered in the Belykh prison because of the frequent turnover of men. Former Kirov region governor Nikita Belykh filed a lawsuit against the Russian Ministry of Finance, seeking compensation for moral (non‑pecuniary) damage from unlawful criminal prosecution. The court found the prosecution unlawful but awarded a significantly smaller amount than the plaintiff had requested. A man came to court with a "pistol." A man came to court with a "pistol."
