Gosuslugi has launched a registry of habitual alimony non-payers.
A registry of persistent alimony evaders has appeared on the Gosuslugi portal. According to the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, the service allows users to check for outstanding alimony debts for the support of children or parents. To search for information, it is sufficient to provide the person’s last name, first name, patronymic and date of birth. Authorization on the portal and entering document details are not required — the service is available to all users. The registry includes only persistent non-payers. This concerns debtors who have been subject to administrative or criminal liability for failing to pay alimony or who have been declared wanted by the Federal Bailiff Service. The Ministry notes that the service may be useful for assessing a person’s financial trustworthiness, including when entering into transactions, and may also encourage debtors to repay their debts. Information on alimony arrears can be checked on the Gosuslugi portal.
