A resident of Kirov Oblast was scared of prison and remembered his daughter.

      At the bailiff’s office for the Nolinsky District an enforcement proceeding was underway to collect child support from a 43-year-old man. The funds were intended for the upkeep of his minor daughter, but the Kirov resident was in no hurry to voluntarily fulfill his parental duties. Due to the systematic non-payment of child support, the man was first held administratively liable. The court sentenced him to 40 hours of mandatory community service under Article 5.35.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. However, this measure also had no effect on the debtor — payments still did not begin. After a repeated evasion of alimony obligations, a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was opened against the "caring" father. Only the prospect of real punishment and imprisonment made the man reconsider his priorities. As a result, the alimony arrears were fully paid.
