Roads in Kirov began to be repaired after the frosts.

      In Kirov last week, pothole repair work resumed after being suspended due to bad weather. During the winter, repairs are carried out only on emergency sections that pose a danger to vehicles and increase the risk of traffic accidents.

      According to the city administration’s press service, over the past weekend potholes were filled on the approaches to the new bridge, on Oktyabrsky Prospekt and Romana Erdyakov Street. Local repairs were also carried out on Lenin and Luganskaya streets. The list of streets for repair is formed based on specialists’ inspections and residents’ requests. Priority is given to main thoroughfares and roads served by public transport.

      In winter, at temperatures down to –10 degrees, a poured asphalt concrete mix is used for repairs: first the section is cleaned and milled, then hot asphalt is poured and sprinkled with crushed stone for better wheel grip.

      The Directorate of Improvement notes that all emergency potholes identified so far have already been fixed. If new defects appear and the weather permits, work will continue.
