The prosecutor's office inspected residential care homes for the elderly and people with disabilities in the Kirovo-Chepetsk District.
At the instruction of regional prosecutor Yuri Ryvaev, officials of the supervisory agency conducted an inspection of one of the institutions providing round-the-clock accommodation for elderly citizens and persons with disabilities. During the visit the premises of the residential care home in Kirovo-Chepetsk and its psychoneurological unit in the village of Karinka were examined.
Together with specialists from the regional offices of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) and Rospotrebnadzor, they checked the operability of the fire alarm system, compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards, and the provision of comfortable conditions and accessibility for people with limited mobility.
Based on the results of the inspection, the collected data will be used in the supervisory and human rights work of the prosecutor’s office. More than 200 such institutions operate in the region, and the prosecutor ordered that oversight of their activities be strengthened to ensure the safety and health of elderly people and persons with disabilities.
