A waiting area for passengers with reduced mobility has opened at Kirov railway station.
The new space is located on the first floor of the station. It is equipped with seating adapted for people with mobility impairments, passengers in wheelchairs, visually impaired people, those who are hard of hearing and deaf, and visitors with guide dogs. The hall is equipped with an induction loop for the hard of hearing, a staff call button, a display with information on train arrivals and departures, and soft furnishings. The room was designed based on actual demand: the Mobility Assistance Center at Kirov station serves about 400 people per month, and up to 14 passengers per day. The Gorky Railway noted that Kirov station is generally adapted to serve passengers with reduced mobility. There are ticket offices with lowered counters, induction systems are installed, and signage includes Braille elements. An information video terminal accessible to wheelchair users is located next to the waiting area. Through it, passengers can obtain information about routes, station services and infrastructure accessibility, and can also connect with a specialist via video link, including using Russian Sign Language.
