Residents of Kirov reported which New Year’s gifts they consider the most unsuccessful. According to a SuperJob analysts’ survey, clothing and accessories — socks, sweaters, bags and ties chosen without regard for the recipient’s taste — took first place. This option was disliked by 13% of respondents.
In second place were cosmetics and hygiene products (11%), as well as abstract “gifts” like loneliness or bad news (7%). Kitchenware and souvenirs received 5% of the votes each, while books, alcohol, toys, greeting cards and sweets got 4% each. Other “flop” items mentioned included towels, photo albums, tea and even a live snake.
The most unpleasant thing, according to city residents, turned out to be not receiving a gift at all: 18% of survey participants chose this option. At the same time, a third of respondents (33%) said they had never been given a bad gift.
Preferences also differ by gender. Men are more often disappointed by clothing items, books and alcohol, while women are more likely to be let down by cheap cosmetics and perfumes, kitchen utensils, souvenirs and toys.
