In 2025 Russian Post expanded the audience for its written correspondence digitization service. It is now available not only to legal entities but also to individuals. Customers in 17 cities can sign up for the service. The service allows users to receive digital copies of incoming letters, as well as notices and notifications from government bodies and agencies, without waiting for the correspondence to arrive at a post office. Digitization is carried out at specialized centers, after which the documents are uploaded to the client's personal account in the mobile app. Paper originals are stored for one month, after which they are disposed of. According to internal research by Russian Post, using digitized document workflow reduces overall document processing time by 25%. The company notes that the service is planned to be scaled up. Russian Post launched the project to digitize written correspondence for legal entities three years ago. The company currently has a network of 20 specialized centers across the country. The digitization process, Russian Post says, meets confidentiality requirements.
Charity trips will take place on December 24, 25 and 26 on the Kirov — Matantsy — Lyangasovo — Kirov route, according to a press release from the government of the Kirov region.
Passengers will include children with special health needs, schoolchildren with academic achievements, Young Army cadets and athletes. The project is being implemented by the Gorky Railway, the Volgo-Vyatka Suburban Passenger Company, the regional government and the "Dorogoyu dobra" organization.
Along the way, children are promised an entertainment program with entertainers, workshops and quizzes. The government also specifically notes the train's equipment: air conditioners, automatic doors, bio-toilets, adjustable footrests and power outlets for charging gadgets.
After the charity trips are completed, the retro train will operate commercially. From December 27 to 30, 2025, and from January 2 to 11, 2026, it will run on the Kirov — Slobodskoy route for anyone who purchases tickets. Passengers are promised photo zones and "surprises from fairy-tale characters."
Regional authorities say they plan to expand the network of tourist railway routes across the Kirov region in the future.
