A man from Kirov lost 47,000 rubles after arranging a date.

According to the police, a young man met a woman on Telegram. During their correspondence she suggested meeting and taking part in a quest together, sending a link to a website to pay for participation. The man from Kirov followed the link, reviewed the terms and paid 2,990 rubles for himself, after which he told his new acquaintance.

A few days later the woman said she could not come but promised to return the money — supposedly through the same link. The site's "technical support" told the young man that to receive a refund he needed to transfer an equivalent amount to the specified payment details, after which all payments would be returned.

The young man sent another 2,990 rubles, but he was told the operation "did not go through" and was asked to repeat the transfer. He sent the requested amounts several times until he realized he had been defrauded.

The total loss amounted to more than 47,000 rubles. The police are conducting an investigation and remind citizens to remain vigilant and not to transfer money via suspicious links.
