In the basement of the former orphanage, a hot sewage spring gurgled.
Residents of the former orphanage at 17a Rukhlyadyeva Street appealed to the People's Front. The two-story building, constructed in 2013 for orphans at a cost of 43 million rubles, was declared unsafe last year. But residents are to be resettled only in 2030. People do not understand how they are supposed to survive until then in such conditions.
According to the ONF press service, the problems in the building are far from cosmetic and pose a threat to health. Under the pile-supported building a real lake of sewage has formed. The liquid does not freeze even in frosts; it bubbles and gives off a strong smell that can be detected even inside the apartments. The siding is covered with frost from the warm steam rising from the "brown sludge."
In addition, there has been almost no proper cold-water pressure on the second floor for nearly two months. In the stairwell the tiles are broken, the floor is warped, and cockroaches run everywhere. Management companies in the building change almost every year, but no one is hurrying to fix the problems.
The People's Front sent an appeal to the prosecutor's office demanding that the flooding be stopped and the water supply normalized to prevent foundation collapse and protect the residents' health.
A similar situation recently occurred in the neighboring building on Rukhlyadyeva Street. A year ago there was already a similar sewage problem and a threat that the building would collapse. In the summer of 2024 the waste under the building was pumped out, a pipe was repaired and a new sewage well was installed, but a year later the problem returned.
