The head of the Kirovo-Chepetsk District resigned after a conversation with Sokolov.

Yesterday, during a live call-in, a resident of the village of Mokrushiny in the Kirovo-Chepetsky District reached Governor Alexander Sokolov by phone. She reported that people have to wait for transport standing by the road in the forest, where, meanwhile, foxes, wild boar and bears roam — there have already been cases of encounters with them.

Sokolov replied that the Kirovo-Chepetsky District has so many resources, yet does not use them as intended. "I recently approached the previous head of the district with a suggestion to consider his suitability for the position," he said. "The person proved reasonable and submitted a voluntary resignation."

The governor added that the district now has a new head, and immediately passed the complaint on to him, promising to send the minister of transport to help with it.

Sokolov also expressed regret that things had turned out this way. "Part of Kirov Oblast has been neglected," he said.
