Residents of Kirov reprimanded Simakov.
Kirov’s head of administration, Vyacheslav Simakov, published an appeal to residents on his Telegram channel on November 21 due to deteriorating weather. According to the forecast, rain mixed with snow and temperatures around zero are expected in the city on the night into Saturday. In connection with this, Simakov instructed the Directorate of Improvement to "take the situation under control from the night," and ordered contractors responsible for the street and road network to step up their work.
According to him, supervisors from the directorate will patrol the city around the clock, record the condition of roads and sidewalks, and promptly dispatch equipment and workers to the most problematic spots. In addition, the head of the administration published phone numbers that Kirov residents can use to report uncleared areas: EDDS — 76-00-00, GDMS — 8-912-827-22-34.
The post sparked active discussion among residents. One commenter drew attention to the fact that sidewalks in several places in the city have been rutted by the tracks of heavy machinery used for mechanized cleaning. According to him, the weight of such machines reaches 3.5 tonnes, and he doubts whether the sidewalk surfaces are designed to withstand such a load. The resident also asked who is responsible for the consequences.
Other users complained about the work of snow-removal contractors and the use of de-icing agents. Some noted that the sidewalks are already "white" even though the snow has not yet fallen, and expressed displeasure that the mixture is being spread in advance. One commenter also compared the condition of Kirov’s streets with Kirovo-Chepetsk, where, he said, "it is often much cleaner."
Simakov urged residents to be more careful on the roads and recommended that those who have not yet changed their tires do so in the near future.
Earlier, on November 15, Kirov was hit by heavy snow. The city was paralyzed by snow, affecting both roads and sidewalks. At the same time, the city administration said that road services were operating in an intensified mode. According to official figures, that morning 58 units of machinery and 94 manual-cleaning specialists were deployed to Kirov’s streets.
