Oleg Valenchuk: Vyatka is lighting up its New Year's lights again!

      This competition became a continuation of last year’s successful initiative, when Kirov was recognized as Russia’s New Year capital and attracted many tourists with its festive decorations.

      Inspired by the success of the summer flower contest “Let’s Adorn the Motherland with Flowers!”, participants and winners decided it was time to showcase their creative abilities during the winter period as well. Oleg Valenchuk supported this idea, emphasizing the importance of creating a beautiful and cozy living environment. “It is our duty to help everyone who strives to make the world around them more attractive, because the pursuit of beauty unites people of different ages and professions,” he noted.

      The competition is held in four categories, each of which allows participants to demonstrate their creativity and individuality:

      1. New Year’s craft. Here participants can submit works made with their own hands. These can be decorations for an indoor or outdoor Christmas tree, as well as decorative elements for the yard, entranceway, or apartment.

      2. Best entrance decoration. This category evaluates the New Year or winter decoration of one or several entrances of residential buildings. Participants may use garlands, snowflakes, luminous elements, and other decorative materials.

      3. Best yard or Christmas tree decoration. Participants can create true winter fairy tales using a variety of materials and ideas.

      4. Winter sculpture. Participants can showcase their skills in creating sculptures on residential grounds. These can be snow figures, ice installations, or other original creations capable of surprising and delighting the city’s residents and guests.

      Photos and videos of works are accepted until January 6 in the Telegram channel or on the wall of the “Union of Gardeners — Kirov” group on VKontakte. The bright finale of the competition will be family celebrations held in five microdistricts of the city. The winners and prize-winners of the competition will be awarded valuable gifts.

Winter Fairy Tale’ competition is an opportunity for Kirov residents to come together around the common idea of creating beauty and comfort in their yards and entrances,” emphasizes Oleg Valenchuk. “Inspired by the spirit of the holiday, the city’s residents will be able not only to decorate their homes but also to bring joy to those around them. Participating in such an event is a chance to make winter in Kirov truly magical and unforgettable.”
