In Kirov, a management company was punished for a neglected building.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Novovyatsky District of Kirov forced the management company to bring apartment building No. 16B on Rukhlyadyeva Street into order and to compensate one of the residents for moral damage. The inspection began after a complaint about the management company's inaction and confirmed violations in the housing and utilities sector, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region reported.

Activists from the All‑Russian People's Front drew attention to violations in the building: numerous defects in the basement, engineering networks and common areas. Specialists from the State Housing Inspectorate inspected the premises and confirmed that the management company was not fulfilling its obligations.

The prosecutor's office noted that the building houses a resident with a Group 3 disability who, because of his health, cannot defend his rights independently. In the man's interests, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit.

The court ordered the management company to eliminate the defects in the basement and engineering networks, and to pay the disabled resident 10,000 rubles as compensation for moral harm. The enforcement of the decision is under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
